My red ballerinas!

Whatever it be, I will look at my red ballerinas                                                                red ballerinas
Those unanswered texts,
Those hate letters,
A populace that envied
That pun that insulted
Whatever it be, I will look at my red ballerinas
My kohl laden eyes that hide some treasure
My gloss that musters sheer grit
My locks that may cause mayhem
A reflection of compassion
Whatever it be, I will look at my red ballerinas
My torn dignity that mends each day
My mammoth roar is the ray
I am shaping up
I am building up my own way
Whatever it be, I will look at my red ballerinas!

  3. My friend asked me to explain the meaning of this poem. So, I did.

    This is what i interpreted: The poetess wants to say that she will keep dressing in all her glory, no matter what the world says. Even if she has a breakup, she will show up all dolled up. Even if the world mocks her or people pass loose comments on her makeup or dress, she will love her red ballerinas.

    Do tell me, if my interpretation was right and do oblige us with your take 🙂
